We’re passionate about creating unforgettable disc golf experiences that help women fall in love with the sport!
The Disc Golf Divas are a Kansas City based community of women that meet frequently at our local courses to play, improve our games, support each other and overall just have fun!
Since 2011, we have hosted “Ladies Night Out” at Rosedale Disc Golf Course in Kansas City, Kansas. It’s a free weekly disc golf league that is women focused and designed to be welcoming to new players to the sport. It’s casual and most fun wins!
OUR STORY
Kansas City Disc Golf Divas was founded in 2011 by Rhonda Crosby with support of her husband Ben, both active members and volunteers in the Kansas City disc golf community. This was a reboot of the Kansas City Flying Disc Club (KCFDC) beginner and women’s leagues at Rosedale they attended themselves in the late 1990’s into the early 2000’s. Over the years, the number of women playing in Kansas City both casually and competitively has continued to increase.
KC Divas hosted Kansas City’s first women’s only disc golf tournament, the KC Diva Spring Feeva on Mother’s Day weekend 2015 at historic Swope Park Disc Golf Course. The KC Diva Spring Feeva has become one of the most well attended women’s disc golf events in the United States. It has given other women in the region the encouragement, passion and excitement to go back to their home towns and local courses to create their own women’s only leagues and events.
With that momentum, the Heartland Women’s Series was born in 2018. The Heartland Women’s Series showcases PDGA sanctioned disc golf women only events and provides support and resources to encourage other women to serve as tournament directors, host leagues or participate in other leadership roles. They in turn continue to grow the sport for girls and women in their local community.
