In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, we thought we would throw down a fun earth day themed challenge. With Covid-19 leaving so many of us confined to our homes, we’re searching for things to keep us busy and DIY projects are a great way to fight off boredom.

The Trash to Treasure Challenge – Recycle old items into awesome new ones!

Example: Cell phone holder created from lotion bottle.

Basic rules of the challenge:

Use items like plastic bottles, grocery bags, aluminum cans, glass jars or bottles and other recyclables to create things that can be used in a new way; A centerpiece to your table for example.

  • You have to use at least 1 item that you would normally throw away, give away, or for those already recycling, put in your bins
  • Take before and after photos of your masterpieces
  • You cannot spend more that $20 on additional supplies or accessories
  • It has to be something you’d actually want to keep or gift

Submit your before and after photos to us by noon on April 27th. Winners will be voted on and announced during Ladies Night In on Zoom at 6pm.

  • 1st place: Trooper Bag
  • 2nd and 3rd place: Glass blown flower pendant + Zipper pulls (these are really cool and donated to us by the crafter)
